Yuri Zaban is a UX designer at Mission.dev with a story that spans creative roots, corporate climbs, and a move toward a more intentional life, all the way from Brazil.
Growing up surrounded by art, music, and storytelling, Yuri’s early passions for sketching, writing, and playing guitar laid the groundwork for his creative path. After earning a degree in social communication, he dove into digital design, cutting his teeth on Photoshop and Illustrator before landing his first gig in web design for a major e-commerce company. There, he learned fast, handling marketing emails, landing pages, and campaigns under tight deadlines.
Yuri’s career kept evolving. From telecom to fintech to SaaS, he took on increasingly complex design problems, building everything from live-stream shopping apps to internal tools for customer service teams. At Superlogica, a SaaS company focused on condominium management, he led product design on a space reservation app, a kind of Airbnb for condo amenities, and overhauled the insurance user flow, boosting conversion rates by over 35%.
Two standout projects he’s especially proud of:
- Alive App: A prototype that reimagined live-stream e-commerce experiences. Developed for a startup and later sold to major clients.
- Superlogica Insurance Revamp: By studying user behaviour and service calls, Yuri reshaped the onboarding flow, drastically improving performance and conversion.
Like many of us, the pandemic reshaped his world. Yuri left the busy city life behind and settled in a quieter town two hours outside Rio. Remote work gave him the flexibility to rethink his lifestyle, and he’s not looking back. “Life is just easier here,” he says.
When he’s not designing, Yuri’s likely exploring new destinations (Mexico’s east coast was a recent favourite), reading business and design books on his Kindle (top picks: Deep Work by Cal Newport and Mindset by Carol Dweck), or playing guitar. He’s married, and enjoys a good weekend BBQ with friends and family.
His approach to UX is grounded in empathy, real-world research, and the belief that better experiences come from better understanding. Whether he’s working on SaaS tools or startup experiments, Yuri brings a clear eye for design and a thoughtful, strategic process to every project.
At Mission.dev, we’re proud to showcase the talent behind the work. Stories like Yuri’s give a glimpse into the depth and diversity of experience across our network.
